Two weeks before Mr. Brogdon passed away I got the results of my DNA test from ancestry.com and it revealed that John Marion Brogdon was my second cousin. I was born at Shaw AFB in 1965 and my family came back in 1972. I'm very thankful that Mr. Brogdon sent his DNA in because a secret in my family was revealed. Because Mr. Brogdon submitted his DNA, I was able to see the unknown family of my unknown biological father. In the eight months since his passing I've got my new family tree built and my biological father down to 2 gentleman in the Mathis Family. Many blessings to the Brogdon family and a grateful thank you for your DNA. I'm related to John on his mother's side of the family (Hawkins) and we share the same great grandparents (Robert/Puebla Mathis and Samuel/Emma Hawkins).

See you on the other side John. For now, enjoy the ride. We'll all join you later. Maybe you can "show me the ropes" when God sends me on to my next assignment.
