Obituary of Robert Beaty, Sr.

Robert Hunter “Rob” Beaty, Sr., 72, husband of Elizabeth Ann Klapthor Beaty, died Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at his home. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Dr. Robert Wesley Beaty, Jr. and Alice Brown Beaty. Mr. Beaty was a member of First Presbyterian Church and co-owner of Beaty Brothers, Inc. He was a graduate of Clemson University. Surviving is his wife of Sumter; one son, Robert Hunter Beaty, Jr. (Julia) of North Fort Myers, FL; two daughters, Sarah Beaty Niemann (Ben) of Wake Forest, NC and Catherine Beaty Tapp (Johnson) of Simpsonville, SC; two brothers, Paul W. Beaty (Melanie) and Lee S. Beaty (Lee) all of Sumter; two grandchildren, Rhys and Sophia Niemann. Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday in the Sumter Cemetery.
