Obituary of Rev. Marion E. Hudson

Rev. Marion E. “Pete” Hudson, 83, husband of Dianne Floyd Hudson, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at his home. Born in Newton, Kansas, he was a son of the late Marion Frank Hudson and Florabelle Bugh Hudson. Rev. Hudson was a former pastor of Bible Way Holiness Church where he served faithfully for 39 years. Upon his retirement, he attended Pocalla Holiness Church. He was also a sales representative within the Sumter Community and an Air Force veteran. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; one son, Rev. Dr. Timothy Hudson (Donna), one daughter, Christy Brown (Steve); one brother, Frank Hudson (Myrt); three sisters, Phyllis Millikin (R. J.), Sue Herriage, Joyce Crawford (Gene); four grandchildren, Rachel Hudson, Sarah Wood (Tim), Alexis Brown, and Justin Brown; one great-grandchild, Adelaide Wood. He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Hudson Cole. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday at Pocalla Holiness Church with his son, the Rev. Dr. Timothy Hudson, the Rev. Robbie Hardin, and the Rev. Ray Hutto officiating. Burial will be in the Pocalla Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. Saturday at Pocalla Holiness Church and other times at the home, 313 Pack Road.
