Obituary of Kay Yamada Fox

Kay Yamada Fox, 93, widow of Harold O. Fox, died Monday, November 8, 2021, at the Martha Franks Retirement Center in Laurens, SC. Born in Aomori City, Aomori, Japan, she was a daughter of the late Jiro Yamada and Yone Yamada. Mrs. Fox was a member of Hickory Road Baptist Church. She was formerly employed by Ruvelle’s and retired from Belk in Jessamine Mall, Sumter as the Head Seamstress. Surviving are son, Tim Fox (fiancée Cheryl); a daughter, Terry Fox-Cordle (John); three grandchildren, Jason Fox (Tiffany), Ryan Brookin (Kyra), Ashley Stockton (Scott); eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Grace (Tony); two nieces, Nanassa Austin (Shawn), Yaiko Neill (Trevor); seven great-nieces and nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 12 P.M. Tuesday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. David Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Florence National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. Tuesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
