Obituary of Brady Leonard Wilson

Brady Leonard Wilson, 79, husband of Judith McCulloch Wilson, died Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born in Sumter, he was the eldest son of the late Brady Wilson and Olga Gertrude Wilkerson Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member of New Salem Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board and as a Sunday School teacher. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran. He was a life member of Claremont Masonic Lodge #64. He was formerly employed as a Sales Manager at Robert E. Lee Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge in Sumter and later retired as a Claims Manager for Seibels Bruce Insurance Company in Columbia, SC. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; one son, James Brady “Jimmy” Wilson of Sumter; two daughters, Shannon Wilson Griffin (Dane) of Sumter, Tammy Rewis of Savannah, GA; one sister, Susan Wilson Price (Johnny) of Sumter; five grandchildren, Christopher Boone, Travis Boone, James Guadagno, Andrew Guadagno, Jordyn Barkley; seven great-grandchildren; a special granddaughter, Austin Marie Barnhill; two special daughters, Lisa “Missy” Lee Weidner of Chapin, SC, and Tori Stewart of Sumter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Beverly Ann Wilson Eargle; a brother, Riley Thomas “Rocky” Wilson, and his best friend, Robert E. Lee. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday at New Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Kevin Massey officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery with military honors and masonic rites. Pallbearers will be Wayne Brown, Dwayne Durham, Brian Eargle, Roy Howell, Robbie Newman and Andy Barkley. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Hardees Coffee Club. The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. Sunday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to New Salem Baptist Church, 2500 W.
