Obituary of Ruth Hodge Odom

Ruth Hodge Odom, 105, widow of Avery Paul Odom Sr. passed away on November 16, 2021 in Waco, TX. Ruth was born in the community of Tindal, SC, near Sumter, to William Wallace Hodge and Laurel Jones Hodge on September 9, 1916. Ruth is survived by her sister Alma DeGroot, her sister-in-law Miriam Hodge and her sons Avery Paul Odom Jr. of Waco, TX and James William Odom of Campbell, TX, her daughter-in-law Judith Austin Odom, her niece Betty Jo Hodge Mills and her husband Ray Mills. She has four grandchildren, Ronald Austin, Melody Llewellyn and Avery Paul Odom III, Chandra Clair Odom Marshal and four greatgrandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brothers Perry Rowland Hodge, William Rivers Hodge, Daulton Curtis Hodge Francis Marion Hodge and her sister Mary Francis Hodge Secord. Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, December 16, 2021, in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
