Obituary of Denny Gene Finley

Denny Gene Finley 62, husband of Rhonda Baker Finley, died Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Elmer Gene Finley and Josette Adamzak Finley. Mr. Finley was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was employed by Becton-Dickinson for forty years and was also a former volunteer firefighter with Cherryvale Station 1. He was an avid hunter and member of Riverside Hunting Club. Surviving are his wife of Bishopville; two sons, Daniel G. Finley (Sandee) of Greenville, SC and Ethan Allen Davis of Bishopville; two stepsons, Jeffrey Clinton Davis (Rebecca) of Sumter, Ethan Taylor Davis (Amanda) of Bishopville; a sister, Patricia Brown (Hank Baker) of Sumter; five grandchildren, Canon Finley, Clint, Haley, Dallas and Layla Davis; a nephew, Jeremy Brown (Christian), and a niece, Lindsay Lefler (Edward). Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Friday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Hanks and Rev. Paul Atkinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 P.M. to 1 P.M. Friday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Bishopville.
