Obituary of Seaman Sinkler Richardson, III

Seaman Sinkler Richardson III, 69, died Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Seaman Sinkler Richardson, Jr. and Helen Edens Richardson. Mr. Richardson was a retired employee of J. H. Seale Gas Company. He was a member of the 1969 Edmunds High School State Championship Football team. He was also the State Champion for the 100-yard dash. Surviving are a son, Corey Richardson (Ashley) of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; a daughter, Amber Richardson (William) of Chapin, SC; a brother, Michael M. Richardson, Sr. of Sumter; a sister, Nelle Ward (Larry) of Chattanooga, TN; two grandchildren, Dexter Richardson and Braelyn Byrd; a nephew, Mike Richardson, Jr.; a niece, Megan Adkins (Ryder), great-nephew, Thatcher Adkins; and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, January 17, 2022, in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charlie Wells, Frank Edwards, Jay Richardson, Trey Richardson, Artie Barker and Thomas Atkins. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M.
