Obituary of Jean Geddings Timmons

Mrs. Jean Geddings Timmons, age 88 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 19. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 at the Forest Hills Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Murray will officiate. Burial will be at 2:00 pm at the Sumter Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Timmons was born in Sumter a daughter of the late Richard Allen Geddings and Susan Richardson Geddings. She was a faithful member of Forest Hill Baptist Church for 46 years and until her illness she was a Sunday School Teacher, Nursery Worker and a member of the WMS. She retired from the DSS District office in Sumter. Surviving are her husband, William (Billy) Timmons, Hartsville; one daughter, Margaret T. (Bobby) Sowell, Hartsville; two sons, Richard P. (Ricky) Timmons, Hartsville and William E. (Eddie) (wife Marie) Timmons, Hartsville; grandchildren, Rich (Heather) Timmons, Lexington, MSGT Will (Margaret) Timmons, Alexandria, VA, Ginger Hess, Hartsville, Ashley (Shawn) Mangum, Monroe, Brooke (Darryl) Powell, Hartsville, Teale (Justin) Lupo, Little River, Kaycie (Mason) White, Lamar, Beth (Johnathan) Larymore, Hartsville, Robby (Madyson) Sowell, Hartsville; 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Hampton Cousar and a brother, Richard A. Geddings, Jr. Norton Funeral Home is honored to serve the Timmons family.
