Obituary of Jacob Carlisle McElveen, Jr.

Jacob Carlisle “Lyle” McElveen, Jr., 71, died Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Jacob Carlisle McElveen and Ada McCoy McElveen. Mr. McElveen was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Lynchburg. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and a farmer. Surviving are two sisters, Lucy M. Lewis and Margaret L. McElveen both of Columbia, SC and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home, in Sumter, SC with Reverend Tommy Conway officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Monday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
