Obituary of Laurie Carson Gaddy

LECANTO, Fla. - The service of remembrance for Laurie Carson Gaddy, age 76, of Lecanto, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Sumter. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Ms. Gaddy was born on April 23, 1945, in Sumter, to John Wesley and Miriam Whedbee Gaddy. She passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, in Lecanto, under the care of VITAS Hospice. Ms. Gaddy worked at Solomons Retirement Home for 13 years before moving to Florida in 2005. She was Methodist by faith. Ms. Gaddy graduated from Sumter High School in 1963. Surviving are her son, Tyson (Shea) Floyd of Rockmart, Georgia; two daughters, Paige (Dwight) Hooper of Hernando, Florida, and Miriam Ginger Floyd of Inverness, Florida; two sisters, Jule Alsbrook of Madison, Georgia, and Kit (Randy) Tisdale of Mission Viejo, California; five grandchildren, Hallie Hooper (Kris) Rose, Avery Floyd (Chris) Terry, Hunter Hooper, Ty Floyd and Noah Floyd; and a great-granddaughter, Alivia Terry.
