Obituary of William Sutton Gardenhire

William Sutton Gardenhire, 88, died Saturday, June 4, 2022, at his home peacefully. Born in Riverside, CA, he was the son of the late James Francis Gardenhire and Geraldine Sutton Gardenhire. William was a retired Lieutenant Colonel for the United States Air Force as a Pilot honorably serving 21 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and had many tours of duty throughout the world. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and having coffee with his friends every morning. Surviving are his son, John E. Gardenhire (Victoria); daughter, Cynthia G. Broome; his sister, Rita Sayer; his two grandchildren, Ryan S. Broome (Jennifer) and John “L.J.” Gardenhire, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Riley Broome, Haley Broome and Cody Broome. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Gardenhire. Graveside services with full military honors will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 10 A.M. in the Sumter Cemetery with Rev. Wes Conner officiating.
