I had the pleasure of working with Chuck at Averitt express. At first we were just cordial to each other, but one day I saw that Chuck had a Vietnam veteran sticker on his pickup as well as a US Navy veteran sticker. I told him I was a Navy vet as well and I saw his face light up. We must have talked for 45 minutes about our service. I asked him about Vietnam and listened to as many stories as he would tell me. He asked me about my time in service and about Iraq/Afghanistan serving on a Submarine during a time of war. From that day forward I always called him Chief and he called me shipmate. He was a great man to talk with and will be sorely missed. My condolences go out to the family for your loss.
