Obituary of Dorothy Gallishaw Hall

Dorothy “Dottie” Gallishaw Hall, 71, wife of Charlie B. Hall, Jr., died Friday, October 7, 2022, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia.
Born April 24, 1951, in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Willie Gallishaw, Jr. and Evelina Davis Gallishaw.
Mrs. Hall relocated to Bridgeport, CT where she worked in production at General Electric. Dorothy also began her modeling career in CT, where she achieved and won a few awards and trophies for her outstanding “catwalks” and poses. Dorothy then moved to Paterson, NJ where she claimed her true love as a caregiver. Dorothy is known as the caregiver and fashionista of the family.
Dorothy finally moved to Sumter, where she met and remained married to the “love of her life”, Charlie Hall. Dorothy loved her family very much and had a big heart for everyone. Dorothy also loved to sing. She became a member of Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church and joined the choir and continued singing with God in her heart until she gained her wings on October 7, 2022.
Surviving are her husband of Sumter; daughters, Ernistine Wright of Stamford, CT and Lisette Wright Garcia (Jeffrey) of Sumter; a son, Charles Willie Wright, Jr. (Felicia) of Rembert; four sisters, Sarah Blackwell and Irene Carter of Bridgeport, CT, Vera Legette of Fairbluff, NC and Ruby McFadden of Paterson, NJ; a brother, Leroy Gallishaw (Bertha) of NC; nine great-grandchildren; five god children, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, brothers, Freddie Gallishaw, Willie Gallishaw, Joseph Gallishaw, and a sister, Willie Mae Wilson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, 1 Pickens Court.
