Obituary of Harley Milford Ard

Harley Milford Ard 75, died Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at his home. Born in Sumter, he was the son of the late Harley Whitford Ard and Loretta Mary Roland Ard. Mr. Ard was an avid golfer at Crystal Lakes. He was a retired machinist for Kaydon. He was a U. S. Army veteran. Surviving are three daughters, Kimberly Williams of Columbia, Beth Lamothe of Sumter, and Amy Carty of Columbia; two brothers, James Ard and Richard Ard, both of Columbia; one sister, Cheryl Ard of Columbia; four grandchildren, Kristin Welch, Cori Williams, Jacob Williams, Annabelle Smith; one great grandchild, Mila Gonzalez; eight nieces and nephews, two great-nieces and nephews and his former spouse and friend, Linda Morris. He was predeceased by his sisters, Joanne Pierce and Lorna Gail Moseley. A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Friday in the Chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Bill Branch officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
