Obituary of Richard Wilder Bradford

Richard Wilder Bradford, 96, husband of Mattie Walker Bradford for 73 years, died Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at his home. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Winfield Wilder Bradford and Margaret “Maggie” Gardner Bradford. Mr. Bradford was a graduate of Edmunds High School and attended Newberry College and Clevenger Business College. He served in the U. S. Army and Army Reserves. He retired from Rowland Brothers Moving & Storage Company. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; his children, Sandra L. Bradford of Sumter, Richard Wilder Bradford, Jr. of Rockport, TX and Melinda Reid Bradford of Flagstaff, AZ. Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. John McLeod and Rev. Larry Brown officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
