Obituary of Jimmy Price

James D. (Jimmy) Price, Jr. 76, beloved husband of Cheryl Crocker Price, died Saturday, August 19, 2023, at his home. Born March 16, 1947, in Sumter. He was the son of the late James DeVan Price, Sr. and the late Lonnie Barbour Price. He was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, a US Army veteran and a retired from Sifco Mechanical Company. He is survived by his wife of Sumter; four sons, Wesley Brasington, Cleve Brasington (Lisa), Jamie Brasington (Amanda) and Christopher Brasington (Alyssa) all of Sumter; nine grandchildren, Taryn, Jeffery, Eden, Lyla, Madison, Addilynn, Holden, Amelia and Wyatt; a sister, Sandy Thompson (Tommy) of Dalzell and a brother Steve Price (Ruby Tisdale) of Sumter; and several niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Paula Price Scott. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the home, 2574 Wedgefield Road with the Rev. Sammy Thompson and Rev. Bryan Rogers. The family request casual attire. The family will receive friends at the home.
