Obituary of Evelyn Gladys Stallard Sluss

Evelyn Gladys Stallard Sluss, 83, widow of Warren H. Sluss, died Thursday, August 6, 2015, at her home. Born in Nickelsville, VA, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Stallard and Gladys Compton Stallard. Mrs. Sluss was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Woodmen of the World. She was a retired civil service employee. Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Kirby (Michael) of Sumter and Debbie Geddings of Manning; two grandsons, Jason Warren Geddings (Melissa) and Michael Kirby, Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Warren Geddings and Dylan Blake Geddings. She was preceded in death by two sons, Warren G. Sluss and Walter C. Sluss; two sisters and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Fraser officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Sunday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home.
