Obituary of Harold Scott Petersen

Harold Scott Petersen, 61, died Sunday, September 10, 2023, at his home. Born November 21, 1961, in Cocoa Beach, FL, he was a son of JoAnn Browder Carroll and the late Cecil Clarence Petersen. Mr. Petersen was a self-employed landscaper. He was a generous giver and a man of God. Surviving is his mother of Sumter; three sisters, Teresa Dawkins, Cathy Young, Nicole Budd (Jeff); and a brother, Cecil Craig Petersen. He was preceded in death by a sister, Odessa Michelle Hunt. Memorial Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. James McElveen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Sumter SPCA, 1140 S.
