So many fond memories of Aunt Helen it's hard to know where to begin. I remember her popping popcorn when we would be at grandmas house on Banner Hill (watching TV because we didn't have one yet). She was so pretty and kind to me I'll never forget her. RIP beloved Aunt

I remember the wonderful lessons from God's Word Helen presented to us each Sunday. I remember her love for her family and how proud she was of each one of you. She and your Dad taught you well how to live according to God's Word. So sorry I will not be able to attend her service as I am just getting over covid. My love and prayers are with you all.

One of the sweetest souls I've ever known. Ms. Helen and Mr. Bob always made me feel welcome in their home. I have only good memories of time spent with them. Jan, Brenda, and Myra, may all your thoughts of your Mom always be sweet. May the Lord hold and comfort all your family .

I worked with Mrs Finley for several years at First Federal in the early- mid 70’s. My name then was Judy McCoy. Mrs Finley was a dear, sweet, Christian lady. Jan, Brenda and Myra, my heart goes out to you for losing both of your precious parents in such a brief period of time. You’re all, along with your families, in my thoughts and prayers.

I first met Mrs. Finley (she will always be Mrs. Finley to me) when I was only 11 years old. A recent transplant from New York and unaccustomed to "Southern Ways", I will never forget one of the most valuable things I was ever told as a child She said, "honey, you are in the South now and when an adult speaks to you, your response is "yes, ma'am/no ma'am or yes sir/no sir". A valuable thing she taught me, which I later taught to my own children. Like another mother to me, she was always good and kind and loved me well. I am rejoicing with her now as I know she has seen the face of our Savior. See you one day soon!

Although not around Aunt Helen and Uncle Bob most of the time, when we were together at family reunions,
Aunt Helen was the life of the party with her contagious laugh. She was a very sweet and beautiful lady.

Helen was my favorite aunt. Her warmth, kindness, hospitality, and her sense of humor made her more special than most. One little memory I have was being at her and uncle Bob’s house in Sumter with my parents and my sister. Everyone who knew aunt Helen knows she was a fabulous cook. She had made a wonderful pecan pie, and there was only one piece left. My sister and I were in some heated discussion as to who would get it. So as luck would have it, my sister took a nap and I ate the pecan pie. I don’t regret it. I loved her dearly and will miss her till I see her again. Love, Carolyn.
