Obituary of William Burgess Wilson

William Burgess Wilson, 92, husband of Doris Poole Wilson, died Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at his home. Born in Mayesville, he was a son of the late James Harvey Wilson Sr. and Jane Gamble Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Worldwide Church of God and he was a retired electrician. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; a son, Jimmy G. Wilson; a daughter, Becky Dollar (Danny); four grandchildren, Jimmy G. Wilson, Jr. (Gabby), Michael Shane Wilson, Kimberly K. Rudd, and Alex Dollar; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Private graveside services will be held in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. Monday, January 29, 2024, at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
