Obituary of Harold Dean Self

Harold Dean Self, 89, husband of Sarah “Bobbie” Taylor Self, died Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at McLeod Health Clarendon Hospital in Manning. Born in Rome, GA, he was a son of the late Dewey Chapman and Ruth Crawford Chapman. Mr. Self was a retired U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant and traveled extensively over the world while serving his country. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, loving husband and father. Surviving are his wife; a son, Douglas Self; a daughter, Donna E. Self Snyder (Mark); 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Graveside services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday in the Sumter Cemetery with Rev. Walt Phillips officiating.
