Betty-Stuart, as you are resting in peace, I light a candle for you. I'm an in-law but am kin to dedicated WV educators, nurses, church leaders, and stewards of the people who have lived and are living in those 'wild and wonderful' places. I only got a chance to meet you once, years ago, but I've always wondered if you ever crossed paths with my people through your teaching, stewarding, and township- I like to imagine you did. Y'all would have gotten along, and I sensed a kinship with you just from knowing you might as well have been a neighbor down the street from them. Sorry if I've missed the right prayer for the candle, but I wanted to send my love to you and your family based on my brief, very precious time with you way back. Rest in peace Betty-Stuart.
