Obituary of Cecil Craig Petersen

Cecil Craig Petersen, 64, died Monday, June 24, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born in Sumter, he was a son of JoAnn Browder Carroll and the late Cecil Clarence Petersen. Mr. Petersen was a retired self-employed welder. He was a professional motocross racer, an avid musician who loved to play his guitar and sing in church. He loved the Lord and his family. Surviving are his mother; three sisters, Teresa Dawkins, Cathy Young and Nicole Budd (Jeff). He was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Petersen and a sister, Michelle Hunt. Memorial services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Chaplain Marvis Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. Saturday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
