Obituary of Martha Joan Tillett

Martha Joan Tillett, 78, died Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born in Green Bay, WI, she was a daughter of the late Charles Bennett and Martha McMurry Bennett. Mrs. Tillett was of the Catholic faith. Surviving are three daughters, Jody Raffield (Johnny) of Dalzell, Molly Geddings (Phillip) and Patsy Ardis both of Sumter; a son, Buddy Ardis (Karen) of Sumter; a brother, Bobby Bennett of MD; four sisters, Gewn Bennett of TX, Katie Goins of Sumter, Mary Soriano of Orangeburg, SC and Heidi Oburg of MO; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Jim Henry Ardis. Services will be private. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
