Obituary of Linda Ruth Hodges

Linda Ruth Hodges, 76, wife of Clyde Hodges, Jr., died Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Ryan Ard and Nonie Owens Ard. Mrs. Hodges was a member of Sumter First Church of the Nazarene and was retired from Sumter Laundry. Surviving is her husband of Sumter; a son, Ronnie Chandler (Stephanie); two daughters, Lynn Sims (Wayne) and Renee Chandler all of Sumter; two brothers, Steve Ard of Sumter and Larry Skinner of Bishopville; a sister, Jackie Daniel of Florence; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Pressley and Rev. Harold Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. Saturday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
