Obituary of Cathy Griffin Morris

Cathy Griffin Morris, 73, wife of Robert Morris, Sr., died Thursday, November 14, 2024, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Henry Griffin and Edith McLeod Griffin. Mrs. Morris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a retired Fire Tower Operator with the SC Forestry Commission. Surviving is her husband of Sumter; two sons, Robert Morris, Jr. (Lori) of Anderson and Vinson Morris (Heather) of Augusta, NJ; four grandchildren, Haleigh Morris, Griffin Morris, Hunter Morris and Taylor Cass; two great-grandchildren, Oliver Cass and Cameron Cass; a brother, Ray Griffin; three sisters, Mildred Osteen, Barbara Garcia and Lynda Masi. She was preceded in death by nine siblings. Graveside services will be held at 10 A.M. Monday, November 18, 2024, in the Poole Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Morris and Rev. Kenny Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
