Obituary of Peggy Jo Garrett

Peggy Jo Garrett, 90, widow of Billy R. Garrett, died Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born in Fayetteville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Fred Royd Irvin and Mary Crouch Irvin. Mrs. Garrett was a member of First Baptist Church and the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class. She was a retired bookkeeper. Surviving is a son, John Garrett (Maxine); a daughter, Vickey Perdue; numerous bonus children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and a long-time friend, Bill Singleton. Mrs. Garrett was a devout Christian and enjoyed square and round dancing with her late husband. The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 11 AM Monday, January 6, 2025, at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, January 6, 2025, in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Calvert officiating. Burial will be held in the Florence National Cemetery, Florence, SC.
