I was in Sumter 11 years ago caring for my mother at the end of her life after having lived away for many years. I saw "Mr Ladd" performing at the mall and delighting the children one day, and it gave me such a sense of the joy of life in seeing the joy he spread to the children. A moment of kindess I've never forgotten. My condolences for your loss....
Sincerely,
Keith Walker

Mr. Ladd was a great man to those that new him. He was kind and gentle. I am sorry that he has passed and will miss him greatly. To his family I pass on my sincerest condolences. I think all that knew him are rocked by his death. I will remember him as I knew him. The greatest showman on the planet. The puppets were his children. Anyone could see how much he enjoyed performing and how much the children enjoyed his puppet shows. Mr. Ladd was one in a million. He always had time for his friends and family.

Mr. Ladd was a true gentleman who enjoyed sharing happiness with others. We always loved visiting with him at Central Carolina (I am retired now) when he was in the building. He was quite an example of being a life-long learner for others. I know he will have a very special place in heaven still doing the thing he loved most--making others smile. Some people bring sunshine to others just by being themselves... that he did well.

The "Puppet" Man brought joy to the hearts of thousands of children over the years and touched my life with his genuine "southern gentleman" traits. He will never be forgotten. God bless his family.

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Ladd. I'm glad I was able to visit him in Sumter last May and that my Mom was able to meet him. She enjoyed talking to him very much. If they have puppet shows in Heaven, I'm sure I'll find him there one day, entertaining the children and Jesus for all time to come. Rest in Peace my friend.
