Obituary of Willie F. Phillips

Willie Floy “Billie” Phillips, 97, widow of William Elmer Phillips, died Saturday, July 2, 2016 in Dalzell. Born in Catoosa County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Cicero Gaston Fox and Lucy Mae Catlett Fox. She has been a resident of Sumter County since 1951. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Dalzell Baptist Church. She attended Carson Newman College and Wiley Business School. She was a former secretary and bookkeeper. Surviving are two grandchildren, Amy Hurley (Keith) and Mathew Davidson (Tara) of Dalzell; four great-grandchildren, Mariah, Deanna, Joshua, and Emmy Lou; and one sister, Opal Barker of Rossville, GA. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jan Elizabeth Phillips; a grandson, Branden Davidson; and two sisters, Irene Leake and Marion Harrison. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, at Dalzell Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Barnette officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday, prior to the service at the church.
