Obituary of Dr. Martin Kenneth Rosefield

Dr. M. Kenneth Rosefield, Jr., 79, husband of Elizabeth (San) Irick Rosefield, died Saturday, September 3, 2016 at his home. Born in Sumter he was a son of the late Martin Kenneth Rosefield, Sr. and Louise Hirsch Rosefield. Dr. Rosefield was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was a graduate of Edmunds High School, the University of South Carolina, and the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed his residency at Emory University and was a partner with Sumter Radiological. He was an avid USC Gamecock supporter. He was a US Navy veteran. The family would like to thank Agape Hospice staff for their care and attention. A special thanks to Rosa Jennings for her incredible efforts in caring for Dr. Rosefield. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; two sons, Martin Kenneth (Ken) Rosefield, III (Angie) of Sumter and Brian Irick Rosefield of Columbia; one sister, Marsha Rosefield Hughes of Tampa, Fl; one step-grandson, Evans Lewis. Graveside Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday in the Sumter Cemetery with Rev. Nick Cheek, Rev. Michael McGhee and Bobby Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends at the home, 2780 Creekside Dr. from 4 to 6 PM Tuesday. Pallbearers will be, Dr. Jimmy Gee, Dr. Strat Stravrou, Dr. Charles White, Dr. Bill Haynie, Steve Eigenbrot, Hugh Betchman, John Duffie, Eddie Kinney. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Bert Parker, Dr. Tim Pannell, Dr. Richard Patrick, Dr. Mike Mease, Dr. Mark Crabbe, Dr. Usah Lilavivat, Dr. Eddie Duffy and Dr. Jamie Smith.
