Obituary of James W. Parker

James Wilbur Parker, 78, husband of Joyce Daulton Parker, died Saturday, October 1, 2016 at his home. Born in Williamsburg County he was a son of the late Davis Parker and Vera Hodge Parker. Mr. Parker was retired from Glasscock Company and was a US Army veteran. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; one son. William D. Parker and his fiancé Kayla Pepper of Sumter; four daughters, Janet Mayfield of Sumter, Shelia Johnston of Summerville, Brenda Hanks of Maryland and Cathy Belkin of Virginia ; one sister, Jean Davis of Sumter; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be at 12 Noon Tuesday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. David Jeremiah officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Monday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
