Obituary of John Henry Ardis

John Henry Ardis, 74, widower of Edeltraud (Trudy) Frey Ardis, died Saturday, December 12, 2015, at the Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Richard Ardis and Esther Avins Ardis. Mr. Ardis was a retired U. S. Army veteran of Vietnam with 20 years of service. He was also a retired mechanic for the City of Sumter with 23 years of service. He was a loving father, grandfather and family member. Surviving are four sons, John Henry Ardis II (Missy), Peter James Frey and girlfriend Renee, Roland Frey (Belinda) all of Sumter and Kenny Ardis (Laura) of Fl; three brothers, Don Ardis of Winston-Salem, NC, Joe Ardis and Walter Ardis both of Sumter; a sister, Shirley Nesbitt of Sumter; and one granddaughter, Alyssa Ardis. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home.
