Obituary of Mary Strickland Tennant

Mary Strickland Tennant, 63, wife of Jerry Tennant, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at her residence. Born in Bishopville, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Strickland and Blanche Strickland. She is survived by her husband of Sumter; two sons, Raymond Tennant (fiancé Michelle) of Sumter, and Jerry Tennant (fiancé Sheryce) of Sumter; a daughter, Mary Gladden (Anthony) of Sumter; a brother, Jimmy Strickland (Jackie) of Spartanburg; a sister, Beth Strickland of Bishopville; and 7 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Michael Tennant and a sister, Irene Kiester. Memorial services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Reverend Luther Amerson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
