Obituary of Richard Bryan Griffin

Richard Bryan Griffin, 91, widower of Ruth Johnson Griffin, died Monday, March 13, 2017, at The Village at Summerville.
Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Richard Bryan Griffin, Sr. and Allee Marie Jones Griffin.
Mr. Griffin was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II and retired from DuPont. He was a former member of the Sumter Lions Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Pamela G. Summers of Columbia and Elizabeth G. Moore of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Bryan Eric Summers (Theresa), Jason McConnell Summers (Meg), Paul Kendall Moore, Jr. and Elizabeth Collin Moore Rumph (David); four great-grandchildren, Anna Louise Summers, Margaret Elizabeth Summers, Catherine Caldwell Summers, and Luke Goodman Summers.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday at Grace Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Williams officiating.
Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home, 112 Burns Drive from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. Friday.
