Obituary of Mayma Capell Hatfield
Mayma Capell Hatfield, 103, widow of Richard R. Hatfield, died Monday, June 5, 2017, at National Healthcare Center.
Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late John James Capell and Leila Weldon Capell.
Mrs. Hatfield was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Springhill. She was a retired self-employed seamstress.
Surviving are a daughter, Jewel Meadows (Floyd) of Sumter; two grandchildren, Angela Thompson (Daniel) and Amy Robbins (Bryan) and four great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Eva C. Bramlette, Minnie Capell, Algie McManus and a brother, James Capell.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Drew Choate officiating.
Burial will be in the St. John’s United Methodist Church Cemetery in Springhill.
The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Thursday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Magnolia Hall at NHC, Rev. Drew & Laurie Choate, Dr. Mayes DuBose and Dr. Phil Brandt for their loving care over the years.
