Obituary of Gary Raymond Hallmark

Gary Raymond Hallmark, 70, husband of Caroll Smith Hallmark, died Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born in Little Rock, AR, he was a son of the late Raymond Riley Hallmark and Merle Cox Hallmark.

Mr. Hallmark was a member of The Church of the Holy Comforter.  He retired as the Community Base Planner for the Civil Engineering Department at Shaw Air Force Base.  He was a U. S. Navy Vietnam veteran.  

Surviving are his wife of Sumter; a daughter, Megan Laura Hallmark Bates of Pittsfield, MA; his mother-in-law, Barbara A. Smith of Sumter; his brother-in-law, Loren Smith (Donna) of Gainesville, GA; an uncle, Melvin Hallmark of Little Rock, AR and numerous very close cousins.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Cindy Reese, Dr. Jeffrey Smith, Dr. Mark Crabbe and the staff of Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Memorial Services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday at The Church of the Holy Comforter.

Inurnment will follow in the church memorial garden. 

The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Church of the Holy Comforter, 213 N. Main St.  Sumter, SC 29150.
