Obituary of Doris Eddleman Reynolds
Doris Jane Eddleman Reynolds passed away peacefully in Charlotte, NC on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the age of 95.
Doris was the much loved wife of and constant companion to Col. William Evans Reynolds who passed away in June 2016 after 71 years of devoted marriage. Doris was a loving mother to their children, William Evans Reynolds Jr, Kimberly Reynolds Franceschi and Richard Nathaniel Reynolds. She was a remarkable combination of quiet, patient competence as a parent, a skilled artist, talented seamstress, avid gardener and wonderful home maker. A graduate of Shawnee High School in Louisville, KY, she attended secretarial school there and later worked at Tuomey Hospital School of Nursing in Sumter as an administrative assistant.
She is survived by their three children, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
We shall forever miss her wonderful cooking, calm loving manner, many talents and the “greatest generation” example she set for us all.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 2, in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Reverend David Day officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 211 Alice Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.
