Obituary of Velma Johnson Coker
~~Velma Johnson Coker, 81, widow of Johnny Lee Coker, died Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Palmetto Tuomey Health.
Born in Alma, Ga. she was a daughter of the late Elbert Johnson and Effie Varnadore Johnson.
Mrs. Coker attended Shiloh Pentacostal Holiness Church and was retired from the Dobbs House at the Columbia Airport.
Surviving are six sons, Kenneth Jordan (Earline), Thomas Jordan (Wanda), Junior Jordan (Tina), all of Sumter, Johnny Coker of St. Matthews, Wayne Coker (Betty) of W. Columbia and Stephen Coker (Wendy) of Twin City, Ga; two daughters, Carol Day (Marion) of Wagener and Darlene Williams (Dean) of W. Columbia; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, J.E. Floyd of Lake City. She was predeceased by a daughter, Geneva Floyd.
Graveside Services will be at 2:30 Monday in the Wells Cemetery with Rev. Venning Long officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Monday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
