Obituary of J. D. Prosser

J. D. Prosser, 84, widower of Belle Robinson Prosser, died Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Blue Ridge of Sumter.

 

Born in Lake City, he was a son of the late John Prosser and Mattie Richardson Prosser.

 

Mr. Prosser was of the Pentecostal faith.  He was a retired lineman with Black River Electric Cooperative.

 

Surviving are two sons, John Derwin Prosser (Kathy) of Wedgefield and Glenn Alfred Prosser (Donna) of Sumter; two daughters, Tammy Rabon (Henry) of Sumter and Vivian Ann McGriff (Eugene) of Dalzell; one sister, Ruby Abrams of Dalzell; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Rabon and Rev. Matt Cuny officiating.

 

Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. Saturday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister, 2441 Four Bridges Road.
