Obituary of Lila Skinner Munn

Lila Skinner Munn, 82, widow of James Rhett Munn, died Friday, February 23, 2018 at NHC of Sumter.

Born in Bishopville, she was a daughter of the late Wilden D. Skinner and Ruth Goodson Skinner Ross.

Mrs. Munn was s member of Grace Baptist Church.  She was an avid Gamecock fan and loved to shag. In 1983, she was inducted into the Beach Shaggers National Hall of Fame.

Surviving are two sons, Harold Owens (Angie) and Danny Owens (Katie) all of Columbia; a daughter, Ivey Smith (Don) of Sumter; one step-son, James Rhett Munn, Jr. (Connie) of Sumter; one step-daughter, Kevin Munn Lassen (Phillip) of Florence; 11 grandchildren, Tyler Smith (Lauren), Will Smith, Patrick Owens, Coulter Owens, Jonah Owens, Taylor Munn, Elizabeth Munn, Mary Margaret Munn, Drayton Lassen, Chandler Lassen and Mary McNair Lassen;  one great-grandchild, Noah Smith.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Wilden Skinner.

Memorial Services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday at Grace Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Williams officiating.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home.

Private Burial will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
