Obituary of William Arthur Scheffel

William Arthur Scheffel, 82, died Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Palmetto Health Richland.

 

Born in Bloomfield, NJ, he was a son the late William and Estelle Coleman Scheffel.

 

Mr. Scheffel was twice married, first to the late Phyllis Taylor Scheffel and then to the late Lynn Loesch Scheffel.

 

A veteran of the USAF, William retired as a Chief Master Sergeant and later from the U.S. Postal Service.

 

Surviving are a son, Robert Scheffel of Seattle, WA; a daughter, Sandra Scheffel Humphries of Sumter; two grandchildren, Laura Burleson (Jacob) and Karen Humphries; and two great-grandchildren, Addyson Burleson and Ayden Burleson.

 

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:00 P.M. Thursday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.

 

A private burial will be in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery.
