Obituary of Elvia Richburg Terry

Elvia Richburg Terry, 73, widow of John Harry Terry, died Thursday, January 28, 2016, at the National Healthcare Center. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Judson Richburg and Mittie Belle Ardis Richburg. Mrs. Terry was a member of Graham Baptist Church and she was a retired secretary. Surviving are two sons, Harry Haston Terry (Tracey) and Maxwell Judson Terry (Dana) all of Sumter. five grandchildren, John Haston Terry, Layton Grant Terry, Tyler Kirby, Mary Margaret Terry and Walker Terry. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Junior, J.B., Ray and Chuck Richburg. Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday in the Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. John Patrick officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Stokes, Mike Moore, Jimmy Truett, Freddie Edmunds, Wayne Gainey and Harold McLean. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Saturday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at their respective residences.
