Obituary of Myrtle Annette Schuhly

Myrtle Annette Davis Schuhly passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence. 

           

Born in Sumter, August 14, 1942, Mrs. Schuhly was the daughter of the late Joel Franklin Davis and Myrtle DuBose Davis Brunson. 

 

She was preceded in death by her brother, Joel Franklin Davis, Jr.  Mrs. Schuhly was a retired beautician and a member of the First Baptist Church of Sumter.

           

She is survived by many members of her loving family including her son, Dan Geoffroy (Audrey) of Hilton Head, SC, and her daughter Patricia Taylor (David) of Florence.  She was extremely proud of her six grandchildren:  Ashley and Colin Taylor of Florence and Nicky, Daniel, Alanna, and Garrison Geoffroy of Hilton Head.  Her survivors also include her two sisters, Kay Savage (Howard) of Jacksonville, FL, and Carol Boykin (David) of Georgia. 

           

The family wishes to extend a very special thanks to Jamie McLaughlin, a close family friend who spent many hours caring for Mrs. Schuhly before her passing.  They would also like to extend their warm appreciation to LaKesha Franks, Leah Howell, and the entire staff of the McLeod Hospice House. 

           

Graveside services will be held at 4 P.M. Saturday in the Sumter Cemetery with Chaplain Greg Black officiating. 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the McLeod Hospice House, 1203 E. Cheves Street, Florence, SC, 29506.
