Obituary of Maxine Nelson

Helen Maxine McLeod Nelson, 82, wife of Norman Murl Nelson, died Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

 

Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Russell “S.R.” McLeod and Bessie Rodgers McLeod.

 

Mrs. Nelson was a member of Manning United Methodist Church and also attended the First Church of God. 

 

Surviving are her husband of Sumter; a son, Gary Nelson (Jill) of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four nieces, Michelle Brewer, Monica Brunson (Ikey), Stephanie Brewer and Marilyn Russell; and a daughter-in-law, Kimmy Nelson of Palmdale, CA.

 

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Glenn Nelson; a granddaughter, Kristen Nelson; a brother, Richard McLeod; a sister, Brenda Brewer and her husband R.T. Brewer, and a nephew, Michael McLeod.

 

Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Ron Bower officiating.
