Obituary of Betty Ann Garris

Betty Ann “Toot” Wells Garris, 82, wife of Manford E. Garris, died Friday, May 31, 2019, at her home.

 

Born in Pinewood, she was a daughter of the late Robert Wells and Ada Furman Lowder Wells. 

 

Mrs. Garris was retired from Waste Management Company.

 

Surviving are her husband of Sumter; two daughters, Carol Ann Hinchliffe Collins (Alan) of Sumter and Cathy Annet Hinchliffe (David) of Wedgefield; a brother, Joseph Wells of Pinewood; two granddaughters, Jessica Collins, Amanda Heffington; three great-grandsons, Brandon Barkley, Austin Riles, James Hyde; and a great-granddaughter, Audrey Brianna Cruzan.

 

She was preceded in death by a sister, Thena Louise Goff and a granddaughter; Amanda Michelle Taylor Rhodes. 

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Brian McGaw officiating.

 

Burial will follow in the Pinewood Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Friday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Carol Collins.
