Obituary of Betty Jean Guinther

Betty Jean Guinther, 78, of Dalzell, wife of Robert Guinther, died Friday, September 20, 2019 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

 

She was a daughter of the late John Hagard Welch and Susan Emma Strickland Welch.

 

She was a homemaker and a member of Sumter Baptist Temple.

 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Barbara Snipes (Steven) of Dalzell; a sister, Cissy Winter of Sumter; 3 grandchildren, Cameron Balser (Rebecca) of Columbia, Zachary Snipes of Dalzell and Emma Snipes of Dalzell; and a great-granddaughter, Eleanor Balser.

 

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Sue Schoolfield.

 

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at Sumter Baptist Temple. Pastor Mike Westmoreland will be presiding. Burial will be at Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 immediately before the service at Sumter Baptist Temple and other times at the home at 5025 Ridge Street in Dalzell.

 

Pallbearers will be Steven Snipes, Cameron Balser, Zachary Snipes, Ed Watts, John Ludka and Lee McGranaghan.
