Obituary of Jack L. Galloway
Jack L. Galloway 85, husband of DeAnna H. Galloway for 60 years, died peacefully at his home, Thursday, October 31, 2019.
Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Henry Lee Galloway and Tessie Hodge Galloway.
Mr. Galloway was a lifelong member of Grace Baptist Church for 60 years. He was a veteran of the
U. S. Army and was retired from Palmetto Baking Company. He was best known for being an avid golfer and sports fan.
Surviving are his wife of Sumter; two daughters, Wendie Kilgore (Greg) of Summerville and Joy Causey (Tim) of Lexington; four grandchildren, Scott Causey, Ashley Causey, Mary Frances Kilgore and Sarah Kilgore; one brother, Robert Galloway of Sumter; two sisters, Linda McDaniel of Manning, Delores Heath (Bill) of Montgomery, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry “Red” Galloway and Harold “Speck” Galloway; two sisters, Ruth Trimnal and Juanita Gaddy.
The family would like to thank his caregiver, Donna McDuffie for her loving care and support and also Dr. Hugh Stoddard for his love and care for forty years.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Williams officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Monday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
