Obituary of James Allen Ammons, Sr.

James Allen Ammons, Sr., 70, husband of Pat Lee Ammons, died Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at Summerville Community Hospice House in Summerville.

Mr. Ammons was a member of Pinewood Baptist Church.  He was a retired truck driver and was a former coach at several Sumter County schools.

Surviving are his wife of Pinewood; a son, James Ammons, III; five daughters, Angie Ammons, Brenda Benedict, April Owens, Stacy Thigpen and Kristen Ammons; two brothers, Jack Ammons (Sonja) and Mickey Ammons (Cindy); a step-son, Robert Sweat; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday at Pinewood Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Gray and Rev. Bennie Barwick officiating.

Burial will be in the Pinewood Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. Saturday at the church.
