Obituary of Jack Smith Cecil

Jack Smith Cecil, 87, husband of the late Patricia Anne Carson Cecil, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Atrium Health in Concord, NC. Born September 13, 1932 in Bluefield, VA, he was the son of the late Edgar M. Cecil and Thelma Bowling Cecil. Retired from the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Bluefield, WV. He is survived by children, Tonni Bennett, Carole Gore, Jackie Desantis, Billy Cecil, Donna Poole, and Lisa Oldham. He is also survived by his older children, Ralph Cecil, Johnny Cecil, and Peggy Hinds. He was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars or to the USO.
